I've never really heard of this person before, but it seemed that she had a small crowd going for her. The first opening act was Halsey. She's got a lot to develop, but it's a good start for her and as an opener she did alright. Music and performance was ok (mostly her jumping around like a bunny rabbit); however, I wasn't able to make out a lot of her lyrics and her voice sounded the same through all her songs.
Seeing this was my first Modern Rock Band, I kept my expectations open. The main course. They are a band that has a little bit of everything to bring everyone together and I think that is something unique that most bands aren't able to do, especially with crowds ranging in the age groups of 10-60 yrs old. The signer made everyone come together like family and it was just a great overall experience. The sounds were booming, the visuals stunning, crowd was pumping and the band was on target. Never have I been so engrossed with a performance that I would see them again with little to no hesitation.
This group had much of the main crowd hanging out in the halls and concession stands just to drown out the noise. Second group was Metric. I know when I had to take a bathroom break after their performance, you could hear everyone was dissatisfied with them. In my opinion, they sounded like they were a modern, dark electronic/80's pop band. It just did not mix well.
I highly recommend seeing this concert, regardless of the openers, and just get yourself lost in the music, lights and sounds of Harvest Moon!
